Invited to TF1 1 p.m. on the occasion of the launch of the Yellow Pieces operation that she orchestrates, as president of the Hospitals Foundation, Brigitte Macron also spoke on Wednesday about the current situation of the hospital, particularly under tension in this time of health crisis.

It was also the occasion for the First Lady to recall her fight against the cyberbullying of minors, but also to react to the words of the President of the Republic about the unvaccinated and his potential candidacy for the 2022 presidential election.

As part of the Yellow Pieces operation, but also more broadly via the Fondation des Hôpitaux de France of which she is the president, both of which collect “Verry much” of donations according to the First Lady, Brigitte Macron insisted on the urgency to come to the aid of the medical staff. “I still have funds for caregivers, to create spaces dedicated to them”, she assured.

“I observe patients’ attachment to their caregivers and their extreme dedication, she continued. I want to tell them, especially at this time, that we are with them and that we will help them as much as possible. They are going to hold on, because they are giving everything they have. “ The First Lady insisted in particular on the difficulties of the child psychiatry units and mental health centers for children and adolescents. “There is a lack of doctors, caregivers and resources”, she lamented. “We are trying to allocate as much as possible to them.”

Brigitte Macron raised in particular the issue of accommodation for medical teams. “Living in big cities is very expensive, she lamented. Not only [les soignants] have a very tiring job for which they give themselves completely, but add two to three hours of transport each day. It’s far too heavy a mental load. “

Asked about the controversial statement by Emmanuel Macron, who said in the columns of the Parisian last January 4 have “very want to piss off” the unvaccinated, the First Lady tried to dodge the question. “We are at a week of comments on this question, I have decided not to comment on the comments anymore”, she slipped.

She also condemned the assault on a majority deputy in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon in front of his home on Sunday January 9 by anti-health pass protesters. “I also fear this kind of permanent crescendo, because we are going further and further”she said. I think that we did not protect ourselves enough from that, that we let too many things go by and that we are now in a kind of downward spiral. But there is always time to go back. “ As such, she said she hoped “that the electoral campaign will be exemplary”.

Brigitte Macron was also called upon to pronounce on the potential candidacy of her husband, who had always declared in the columns of the Parisian to have “desire” to enter the campaign, without yet confirming to be a candidate. “Like you, I await his decision”, she assured. The First Lady thus recalled her commitment against cyberstalking, in particular targeting minors, since the start of her husband’s mandate. She thus recalled her support for the association e-Enfance, which set up the helpline at 3018 and which manages to quickly remove degrading content online. “The longer the content remains, the more the minors suffer (…), they must be removed as quickly as possible, then the damage is repaired”, in particular the psychological problems which ensue for the victims, she explained.

“I ask that we be careful to ban networks before 13 years, that we finally have moderators who speak French“, she added. “All of this is difficult to obtain.” Brigitte Macron also shared her wish to see training on the subject provided at school, to make children aware of good online practices to protect them: “I find that we are much too slow on this”, she lambasted, also insisting on information from parents. “If there are no adults next to the children, we will not be able to get out.”

“It’s my fight, I’ll do anything to protect them from this, because it’s a huge pain”, she continued. Among adults who were victims of cyberstalking as children, “some find it difficult to get started in life because of what they experienced when they were young”, she stressed.
