BISHA – Slovak motorcycle racer Štefan Svitko took 7th place in Wednesday’s 10th stage of the 44th Dakar Rally. The 39-year-old rider leveled his best stage position at this year’s edition of the legendary rally, he was also seventh in the 2nd and 6th stages.
and winner Toby Price from Australia had a shortfall of 6:29 minutes. The sixth American Andrew Short had the same loss in the stage that led from Wadi ad Dawasir to the city of Bisha with a measured section of 375 km.
In second place was Argentine Luciano Benavides with a deficit of 2:09 minutes and the third place was taken by the Spaniard Joan Barreda Bort, who lost 3:21 min. Svitka did not return the result to the top ten, from which he dropped out after a 15-minute penalty on Tuesday for replacing the engine. Frenchman Adrien Van Beveren has returned to the top of the overall standings, Svitko is currently twelfth with a deficit of 41:50 minutes.
