“If Mr Fico and Mr Kaliňák consider that I have committed the offense of abusing a public official’s authority, I consider it their legitimate right to file a criminal complaint.” the police chief stated. Former Minister of the Interior for Smer-SD Robert Kaliňák said on Tuesday (January 11) that Hamran should have ordered charges and police action against the party’s leader and member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico during the December protest in Bratislava.

According to him, the decision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Bratislava to lift the accusation also tells Fica about the conflict between the police procedure and the Constitution of the Slovak Republic. Kaliňák also announced a criminal complaint for abuse of power by a public official.
