According to the Czech State Institute of Public Health (SZÚ), a more contagious variant of omicron is already prevalent among new cases of coronavirus infection in the Czech Republic. Laboratories in the Czech Republic performed about 92,000 tests on Tuesday, a week earlier there were 96,000. The weekly incidence rose on Tuesday to 440 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which is 20 more than the previous day. The situation is relatively the best in the Vysočina region, where the incidence remained at 287.

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the Czech Republic since the beginning of the epidemic reached 2,550,711, a total of 36,722 infected died. Patients with COVID-19 disease in hospitals decreased from 2,446 to 2,216 on Mondays, and 407 are in serious condition.
