The 5,000-person tonnage in stadiums will soon be gone. The Senate has just approved the amendment on gauges proportional to the size of sports arenas.
While the vaccine pass is currently being debated in the Senate after its adoption by the National Assembly, the senators discussed and voted on the various amendments to the bill. Among these, amendment 36 on the end of the gauges to 5000 people maximum outdoors was approved. The text provides for the introduction of a gauge proportional to the size of the sports arena, in particular the Ligue 1 stadiums. The new number of people accommodated in a stadium will be defined by the following calculation: in addition to the 5,000 people, 50 % of the remaining seats in the stadium may be opened.

This text could relieve the Ligue 1 clubs, especially those with a large stadium such as OL and OM. With this, OL could for example accommodate nearly 32,000 people in its Groupama stadium.
