Israel records a new record of coronavirus infections: almost 38,000 cases ascertained in 24 hours, while the race of the Omicron variant continues. According to data from the Ministry of Health, Ynet reports, yesterday 37,887 infections were ascertained out of 332,993 tests carried out and active cases are more than 185,750, with 700 patients hospitalized, 247 of whom with severe symptoms. Monday were 117. Since the beginning of the month, Ynet points out, there are 190,147 confirmed cases among Israelis, a figure that corresponds to 2% of the population. Among the last to have contracted the virus there is also the Foreign Minister, Yair Lapid. “Yes, I tested positive for the coronavirus – he tweeted – I feel good because I am vaccinated. Get vaccinated, put on the masks, we will face all this together.” On the front of the vaccination campaign in Israel, 367,670 people have received the fourth dose of a Covid vaccine. There have been 8,271 deaths in Israel since the start of the pandemic.
