In Switzerland, in the last 72 hours, there have been 63,647 new covid infections, 48 ​​deaths and 233 hospitalizations for the coronavirus. This was reported by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), which every Monday publishes the overall results of the previous three days. On Friday, the SFOP had announced 28,038 cases within 24 hours, 10 deaths and 126 hospitalizations. Currently 649 covid patients are in intensive care. Over the last 72 hours, the results of 221,693 tests have been transmitted, with a positive rate of 28.7%, compared to 26.4% last week. The Omicron variant represents 56.3% of the cases examined in detail. In the past fourteen days, the total number of infections is 279,747, or 3,212.03 per 100,000 inhabitants. Since the start of the pandemic, 1,546,840 cases of covid-19 have been laboratory confirmed in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In total there are 12,031 deaths and the number of people hospitalized stands at 40,472. In total, 67.56% of Swiss people have already received two doses of the vaccine. Among the population over 12, the share rises to 76.88%. In addition, 67.69% of people over 65 and 30.04% of the population received the so-called booster.
