Slovak actress Eva Večerová created a variety of characters on the stage, and her versatile talent enabled her to work in both classical and modern repertoire. She has acted in almost a hundred television films and series, and has also found her place in dubbing. For example, she lent the voice to the well-known cartoon character Bee Maji in the fairy-tale television series of the same name, which gained even the smallest viewers.

Actress Eva Večerová turns 70 on Saturday, January 8. Eva Večerová was born on January 8, 1952 in Bratislava. As a child, she became a member of the Children’s Radio Drama Company. She began her university studies at the Puppet Department of the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, but finally completed her acting studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in 1975.

In the years 1974–77, she worked at the State Theater in Košice, where she performed both on comedy and in serious roles. Viewers could see her, for example, as Dorina in the production of Tartuffe (1975) or Hank in the Slovak classic, represented by Hájnik’s wife (1976). She further developed her career at the New Stage Theater.

She played Georgetta in the comedy School of Women (1981), how Katarínka appeared in the theatrical adaptation of Jánošík according to Vivaldi (1983), embodied the free-spirited and fearless Varvara in the Russian drama Storm (1983) and seductive Mara again in the production Car full of pain ( 1985).

Večerová worked at the Andrej Bagar Theater from 1996 to 2016. On the Nitra stage, she took on the role of neurotic actress Irina Arkadinová in the non-traditional adaptation of Anton Pavlovič’s Chekhov (1999), and in the cult Shakespeare’s story of betrayal Macbeth (1999), where she played one of witches. She played exactly three roles (Koketa, Matka, Singer) in the production Game of Dreams (2000) and also appeared in another of Chekhov’s plays Three Sisters (Anfusa, 2003).

The Slovak artist has acted in a number of films, television productions and series. Among the best known are Christmas Waffles (1977), The Eleventh Commandment (1977), The Bride’s Bride (1978), The Desolate Court (1978), The Two Farce (1979), The Greatest Ashtray in the World (1982), Elizabeth’s Court (1986), Landscape (2000) ), as well as the series How Wild Geese (2000), City of Shadows (2008), Stormy Wine (2012) and Kolabs (2015). She also devoted herself to pedagogical activities, initially at the conservatory in Topoľčany, and later taught acting at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
