RIJÁD – Slovak motorcycle racer Štefan Svitko took 7th place in the 6th stage of the 44th Dakar Rally and the same place belongs to him in the overall ranking. The organizers had to shorten and interrupt Friday’s program of motorcyclists due to problems on the track, so the results were determined in order at the 101st kilometer. The Australian Daniel Sanders enjoyed the victory with a lead of 2:26 minutes over the British Sam Sunderland, the third was the Austrian Matthias Walkner (+2: 36 min).

Svitko still had to deal with challenging terrain. “Today we went the stage that the cars drove the day before us. We knew it would be Russian roulette and the base would come to the finish line without falling. There were a lot of holes and stones, fortunately after 100 kilometers they canceled the stage for safety reasons,” wrote a racer on the social network Instagram. “Everyone on the bikes is breathing out. We have half behind us and a day of rest awaits us tomorrow.”
