O2 will increase service prices by 1 euro per month. The change will affect the vast majority of clients – Živé.sk

O2 today announced an increase in mobile and fixed services by one euro per month for each of them. It reduces the “Digital bonus” by 1 euro per month, which is used by most of the operator’s clients.

The change will take place gradually from February.

Price increase by 1 euro

Operator since summer 2020 increased the price of services by 2 euros per month. However, clients were able to avoid rising prices if they met the conditions set by O2 – it was necessary to activate an electronic invoice, activate digital messages in My O2 and pay the invoice online.

In practice, this means that although flat rates have risen in price by two euros, eligible clients have received two euros back – as a “digital bonus”.

The provider announced today that all clients who use this bonus will pay an extra euro per month for each billed service – the digital bonus is halved.

These are mobile flat rates, but also the Internet with a fixed use. The change will affect the O2 Flat, Smart Flat, Data, My Company, Fair on Invoice, Mini Bonus Internet, Telemetry and Home Internet programs.

If you have not used the “Digital Bonus” before, so you have been paying a 2 euro higher fee for a longer period of time, the change does not apply to you.

O2: Prices are rising, we are responding

The operator describes that the reason for the increase is the increase in market prices and the “sharp rise in energy costs that are necessary for the operation of mobile networks”.

“We are aware that the benefits of digitality associated with saving one component of costs cannot fully replace the rise in prices of goods and services in Slovakia, which we have witnessed in recent years. In order to be able not only to maintain the quality of the services provided, but also their further qualitative development, we had to reduce the amount of the Digital Bonus, ”explains Igor Tóth, CEO of O2.

When will the change come

The operator will start the change in a month and a half. “The adjustment of the amount of the Digital Bonus will be reflected gradually in the customer’s billing period, but not earlier than in the billing period from February 22, with customers noticing the difference in invoices arriving at the end of March and during April,” says O2.
