3269 cases of new coronavirus infection and 47 victims in Slovakia – TVNOVINY.sk

Using 12,432 RT-PCR tests, they detected 3,269 cases of new coronavirus infection in Slovakia on Wednesday (January 5). There were 47 casualties. The National Center for Health Information (NCZI) informs about it on the website covid-19.nczisk.sk.

Of the 3,269 people with a positive PCR test, almost 64 percent were not vaccinated. The most positive tests were in the Trenčín Region, on the contrary, the least in the Trnava Region.

Zuzana Eliášová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health (MZ) of the Slovak Republic, informed about it.

372 people had a positive antigen test, almost 68 percent of whom were not vaccinated.

There are 2155 patients with COVID-19 in hospitals, 432 patients in JIS and OAIM, 217 people need support for artificial lung ventilation. “Almost 83 percent of those hospitalized are not vaccinated or have only one dose of the vaccine,” Eliášová said.

Last day, 25,004 people received the third dose of the vaccine, for a total of 1,054,598 people. The second dose of the vaccine was given to 2,117 people on Wednesday, a total of 2,597,515 people were vaccinated in Slovakia. “The good news is that there are still more people who have decided to get vaccinated. The first dose of the vaccine was given to 2,518 people yesterday, a total of 2,749,856 people in our country have it,” Eliášová added.
