Heger supported Matovic’s reform and emphasized its simplicity – SME.sk

BRATISLAVA. After many stickers that dismantled the tax system, complicated or created the so-called silent taxation is entirely appropriate now to come up with the cleansing, simplification and attractiveness of this system.

Entrepreneurs as well as citizens are calling for clarity and simplicity. Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽANO) commented on the tax-tax reform from the workshop of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Igor Matovič (OĽANO) during an interview with TASR. According to the Prime Minister, simplicity is a great added value, which is why the reform is good.

From the point of view of the Minister of Finance, he highlighted two important pillars of Matovič’s “revolution” in taxes and levies. He appreciated that the reform contained an aspect of family policy that the movement had been pursuing for a long time OĽANO. “The second very important pillar is the simplification of the whole tax system,” Heger said.

Asked whether he expects disagreements in the coalition in some of the more controversial parts of the reform, the prime minister said that every reform is a new paradigm and automatically raises questions in the people. However, he does not consider it negative, because on the other hand, it can be seen that people are interested in reforms.

As an example suitable for discussion, he mentioned part of the revolution – changes in the self-employed. “The submitted proposals lead to improvement, but – as they say – the devil is hidden in the details and needs to be discussed. Minister Igor Matovic opened this discussion,” the prime minister noted.

Minister Matovič presented his extensive changes in the system of taxes and levies at four press conferences. During the first, he talked about increasing family support, then about labor taxation, corporate taxation and finally about changes in the self-employed.

The prime minister said that the minister had been discussing the reform with him all along. Discussions began when Heger was finance minister and Matovic prime minister. The talks continued as they took office.

According to the prime minister, there was no time to go into full details just before the performance, but according to him, this is not even necessary. “So yes, I can say that I was quite into the picture,” the prime minister concluded.
