ZAGREB – Slovak skier Petra Vlhova defended her World Cup slalom triumph on Tuesday in Zagreb. In the Croatian capital, she was crowned Snow Queen for the third year in a row. However, before that, the Slovak national team was caught in the race venue by an unpleasant news about the positive Swiss with whom it trained.

Camille Rastová, Aline Daniothová and Melanie Meillardová did not start on Tuesday. All three tested positive for coronavirus. “We are trying to protect, coincidentally I was in training with them. One protects oneself, but one cannot avoid it because one can do anything, but it is like my brother said – Russian roulette. When we go to the tests we hope that we will all be negative “But it can happen that someone fires. So unfortunately we have to fight and be careful and just pray that it will get around us,” Vlhová said on the margin of the current situation for the Slovak Skiing Association.

The 26-year-old Slovak woman has won the fourth of five slaloms this winter, apart from Zagreb, she has won twice in Levi and once in Lienz, and only the domestic Shiffrin has won it in Killington. Out of a possible 500 points, 480 gained sovereign classification of the discipline, having a lead of 140 points over the second Shiffrin. In the overall standings of the World Championships, Vlhová moved to the second place in front of the Italian Sofia Goggio, in front of her there is only an American rival, for which she loses 115 points.
