Toulouse: the garbage collectors’ strike hardens, several deposits blocked this Thursday morning – LaDepeche.fr

The piles of garbage are piling up in the city center and the districts of Toulouse and it is, it seems, not about to stop. The striking garbage collectors moved up a gear at 5 a.m. this Thursday morning by blocking several deposits with garbage bins. The Raisin and Monlong depots have been blocked by a few dozen garbage collectors since the start of the day. Union agents have joined the Raisin depot.

The negotiations conducted Wednesday between the intersyndicale des garbage collectors and the human resources managers of Toulouse metropolis ended in failure. The unions are asking for 34 days of compensation for the arduousness of their work, while the metropolis is offering nine days.

The law on the modernization of the Civil Service, which entered into force on January 1, 2022, imposes a working time of 1,607 hours per year, which is equivalent to an effective change to 35 hours.
