Fico does not have to quarantine after returning from vacation, he has an exception thanks to his diplomatic passport – Denník N

On Wednesday, January 5, the President of the Direction, Robert Fico, organized a press conference at his party’s Prešov regional headquarters, at which he criticized the draft defense agreement between Slovakia and the United States.

He appeared before reporters after returning from a holiday in Jordan, where the reader of Denník N also saw him. It is not clear on which day Fico returned from vacation, according to his videos he was abroad the day before New Year’s Eve.

The chairman of the Direction says that he is not vaccinated against covid-19. According to the currently valid decree, all the unvaccinated, including those who have overcome the covid, must go into quarantine after returning to Slovakia. They can end this as an symptom-free course on the tenth day after the return, the quarantine can also be shortened by a negative PCR test, which can be done on the fifth day after the return.

It would probably be difficult for Fico to follow these rules, to take the test, to wait for his result, and to hold a press conference at noon on January 5. Even so, he did not break the return rules. According to the decree of the Chief Hygienist, holders of diplomatic passports, ie members of parliament, are also exempt from quarantine, regardless of the purpose of their trip.
