The Slovak company InoBat acquired another investor in a few days, the American company Ideanomics Mobility. Following investments from Rio Tinto and Indian Amara Raja, it is another global company.

“The goal of the cooperation is to support stable production, but also the joint development and commercialization of various types of battery cells for the US market,” informed the company InoBat Car.

Investments that InoBat recently received in the tens of millions of euros, according to the company, will be used primarily for the development of research and development of batteries, which will take place in the center in Voderady near Trnava.

Joint activities with Ideanomics also want to focus on the design, development, production and distribution of batteries in the US market. “The goal of the collaboration is to accelerate the growth of Ideanomics’ subsidiaries and offer a manufacturing alternative, especially for customers based in the US and Europe.” the company stated.

Ideanomics is an American company that focuses on the development of electromobility and its adoption in the commercial sector within its Mobility division. However, the investor is so important that the world’s major media also wrote about his cooperation with the Slovak startup InoBat, for example Financial Times.

Investments are just pouring in

Inobat only started testing its batteries in March this year, but is already gaining one investor after another. Money to a factory in Voderady recently poured, for example, the world mining giant Rio Tinto.

With its investment in InoBat Auto, Rio Tinto will mainly support the development of the battery production ecosystem in Europe. Lithium mining in Europe, together with battery production, has the potential to shorten delivery times and reduce the carbon footprint. Both companies can work together to produce and recycle batteries directly in the European region.

A leading Indian manufacturer of industrial and automotive batteries has also announced a strategic investment in the Slovak company InoBat Auto Amara Raja Batteries Limited (Amara Raja). Cooperation with Slovaks is intended to enable the Indian company to enter the growing European battery market, but also, on the contrary, to mediate the expansion of InoBat into foreign markets, InoBat said on Wednesday. The company did not specify the amount of the investment.

“This is a strategically important step for InoBat, especially in relation to the planned construction of gigafabriks in Europe and globally,” stated the director of InoBat Auto Marián Boček for the press agency. The Indian battery manufacturer, whose customers include companies such as Ashok Leyland, Ford India, Honda and Hyundai, states that the initial investment will provide Amara Raja with key support in the European electric car market.

World quality batteries
