On the first day of the year, PCR tests revealed 216 infected people, no one succumbed to the disease – TVNOVINY.sk

In Slovakia, PCR tests on 1,464 samples of 216 infected people were detected on Saturday (January 1). A total of 5,109,397 have carried them out in the laboratories since the beginning of the pandemic.

Regarding antigen testing, 482 positive out of 3,532 tests performed were added.

With confirmed disease COVID-19 There are 2,297 patients in Slovak hospitals, which is four less than the previous day. Among hospitalized, 83.8 percent of people are not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated. There are 452 patients in JIS and OAIM, and 222 people need lung ventilation support. According to the ministry, 2,313 people were hospitalized on Friday.

None of the infected patients succumbed to the disease last day. The total number of victims on COVID-19 thus remains at 16,665.

Vaccination

Vaccination was also continued on the first day of the year. The third dose of the vaccine was given to 533 people, a total of 986,479 people in Slovakia. The second dose was vaccinated by 2,483 people, with a total of 2,579,074 people. There were also 269 vaccinees with the first dose, a total of 2,743,507 people.
