France: entry into force of new ecological regulations

An entry into 2022, and its share of changes in our daily lives. First, in the supermarket shelves, no more plastic packaging around fruits and vegetables, below 1.5 kg. But there will be exceptions, such as red fruits which could spoil if sold in bulk.

Still for ecology, the introduction of a new auto penalty, this time on the weight of vehicles. From 1.8 tonnes, there will therefore be a tax on top of that on CO emissions._², because the heavier the car, the more it tends to pollute.

Change also health level. Contraception becomes free for women aged 25 and under. Until now, free education only applied to minors. Finally, the establishment in emergencies of a single package of 19.61 euros. Previously, the rate could fluctuate, and the bill fell several weeks after going to the hospital. Objective: to simplify payment, still provided by mutuals.
