The coronavirus pandemic has affected other New Year’s celebrations. Therefore, there are no big celebrations in the squares of Slovak cities, the local governments have also canceled the magnificent fireworks that would welcome the year 2022.
In addition, during the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Eve, there is still a night curfew. The police also carry out inspections of the measures in the streets of the capital.
It intervened in the center of Bratislava shortly before 10 pm. There was a group of Slovaks and foreign tourists drinking on the benches at Hviezdoslav Square.
The police legitimized them and reported them to the public health office for violating the curfew. It is valid with several exceptions only at night, ie from 8 pm. to 5.00 h. the following day.
The other squares in Bratislava were not completely empty either, but only small groups of people moved outside.
