The Scottish National Party (SNP) triumphs in elections in Scotland and ‘first minister’ Nicole Sturgeon proclaims: “There is no democratic justification for not holding a second referendum on the nation’s independence”. “Even if we do not yet have the final count of the seats – said Sturgeon, leader of the SNP – it seems beyond any doubt that there will be a pro-independence majority in the Scottish Parliament”. According to the ‘first minister’, whoever in Westminster obstructs the referendum “will not engage in a battle with the SNP, but with the democratic will of the Scottish people”. And, he spelled, “it will not be successful”. According to the BBC, the SNP currently has 63 seats, two less than the absolute majority.
