In the Upper Austrian village of Vorderweissenbach, located near the border with the Czech Republic, only a two-year-old child froze on the night of Thursday (December 23). He writes Today.

The boy set out in the dark to look for parents who were visiting neighbors. According to the local media, Von only came out in his pajamas.

Temperatures around ten degrees below zero prevailed in the area that night. The parents allegedly did not find their son until about five o’clock in the morning. The boy was in a state of severe hypothermia and the rescuers called in could no longer help him.

During the visit, the parents had a monitor from the camera that was scanning the children’s room with them. It is not clear whether the device did not work properly or just the parents did not notice that the boy was not in bed.

Police are investigating the case on suspicion of manslaughter. The authorities provided psychological assistance to parents aged 27 and 31.
