There were 4,679 infected people in Slovakia, 51 patients succumbed to covid – TVNOVINY.sk

On Thursday (December 23), 4679 cases of new coronavirus infection were detected in Slovakia through 17,934 PCR tests. There were 51 casualties. The National Center for Health Information (NCZI) informs about it on the website covid-19.nczisk.sk.

Of the 4679 people with a positive PCR test, more than 69 percent were not vaccinated. The most positive tests were in the Žilina region, on the contrary, the least in the Banská Bystrica region. Zuzana Eliášová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health (MZ) of the Slovak Republic, informed about it.

“568 people had a positive antigen test, more than 69 percent of whom were not vaccinated,” the spokeswoman said.

As she further stated, there are 2652 patients with COVID-19 disease in the hospitals, there are 482 people in the JIS and OAIM, 245 people need the support of artificial lung ventilation. “More than 83 percent of patients are not vaccinated or have only one dose of vaccine.”

13,000 people were vaccinated with the third dose of the vaccine, 5629 people received the second dose of the vaccine and 1,627 people received the first dose of the vaccine.
