The Christmas Eve gala dinner is scheduled in custody and imprisonment institutions from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm. They adapted their diet to the religious and cultural customs, traditions and, in particular, the state of health of the prisoners. Fasting on Christmas Day is at the individual discretion of each prisoner. The spokesperson of the Prison and Judicial Guard Corps (ZVJS) Monika Kacvinská informed about it.

According to her, anti-epidemic regulations are followed when dispensing food. “Potato salad, carp, kale, are an integral part of the Christmas holidays,” the spokeswoman said.

Christmas Eve breakfast in prisons will consist of vegetables, cheese, spreads, pastries and poppy seeds.

Potato, rasc, lentil or vegetable soup will be served for lunch, as a main course vegetable risotto, bryndza-potato pies or ducat buns.

Christmas Eve dinner will consist of mushroom soup, cabbage in various ways and in most institutes they will serve fried fish fillets with potato salad.
