She made an exception only after many years, when she accepted an invitation from RTVS to appear in one of the episodes of the show Pumpa. Although several months have passed since the filming, many viewers were surprised by its appearance. Although her footage circulated on the Internet some time ago, many still ask what it looks like.

At the time the original Perinbaba was filmed, Petra was only 19 years old as Elizabeth. Looking at her face, it is clear that she is no longer a girl. Like everyone, she signed the tooth of time. The actress has a head full of gray, a few extra wrinkles, but what she hasn’t lost in years is a huge charisma and a penetrating look.

The actress was not stingy and remembered the days when Perinbaba was filming. Remember it with us!

Peter, how do you remember filming the first Perinbaba, where you played the role of the beautiful Elizabeth?

The very memories of filming this fairy tale are becoming a completely separate fairy tale. For today’s young filmmakers, perfectly mastered the creation of digital tricks and animations, our filming stories at a time when there were only “mechanical” tricks are literally a trip to a magical world. I also realize that I was lucky enough to experience this era and especially to really enjoy it.

Which memories are among the strongest?

The memories of real flying on the Perinbaba perina at a height of 25 to 30 meters above the ground, wading with ice water in a real ice cave, or fishing in the middle of a frozen real pond are among those that do not fade so easily. Because it’s not just memories of my personal experiences, but also of an incredibly perfect filmmaking craft that has managed to bring the world of fantasy to the screen without the help of sophisticated computer programs and cutting-edge digital technologies.

Juraj Jakubisko approached you to play in the sequel, so you will also appear in Perinbaba 2. Did you hesitate?

It was literally a “trip to my youth” for me, as I haven’t acted professionally for many years. And even though I accepted the offer – to stand in front of the camera again – especially out of immense respect for the work of director Juraj Jakubisek, I did not regret it.

What was it like going through it again after years?

I really enjoyed it. Especially the feeling – as if time had returned, and we only continued filming after a break of a few days. I hope that Juraj will be able to create something similar in the audience who will watch Perinbaba 2. That they too will feel that they are watching how the story they loved so smoothly continues …

Your name will be associated with Alžbetka forever. Have you ever felt that it would be enough?

I don’t know how I would perceive the constant connection with Alžbetka if I continued to devote myself to acting professionally. But this is how it has become a really nice part of my life. I really appreciate every viewer who, even after so many years, expresses his appreciation for his beautiful story. For me, it is such a lasting signal that people still long for happy endings and fairytale justice. It just surprises me more and more that they still meet Elizabeth in the streets, in shops or at other random meetings.
