Please note that these figures are an estimate. As a document from Public Health France indicates, “increased surveillance has been put in place in order to monitor more sensitively and reactively the [variant] Omicron. Omicron does not carry any of the mutations included in the screening strategy currently deployed in France […]. The absence of mutations sought by screening […] is therefore a signal that can lead to suspect this variant, but a complete sequencing of the viral genome is necessary to confirm it“
