MOSCOW – A Russian politician from Magadan, famous for posing in the middle of the inscription Chukotka 2021 consisting of 178 shot geese, was found shot in his office at night. Alexandra Kramarenka was prosecuted by the police on suspicion of poaching after the photo was published. Investigators are now investigating whether a 59-year-old member of the Magadan parliament shot himself or was assassinated, Russian media reported.

“We are considering standard versions, including possible illegal acts against the dead. We do not deny the version about voluntary departure from the world,” investigator Andrei Makarov told REN television. Cops are now questioning possible witnesses and relatives of the poor.

The case with the number of geese caught from this summer was described in the media as a typical example of poaching, which is usually committed with impunity by high-ranking dignitaries. According to the media, Kramarenko was captured in a picture from social networks. A member of the Magadan parliament denied this, claiming that the photo had been edited. The city of Magadan is located in the Russian Far East.

Following these reports, the ruling United Russia suspended Kramarenko’s membership, and investigators opened a case under the section on illegal hunting, causing particularly heavy damage. Communist MP Valery Rashkin, whose lower house of parliament has been stripped of his immunity last month, is also being prosecuted on the same page, the Russian BBC has said. Rashkin is suspected of catching a moose without permission.
