Omicron variant, Israel: yes to fourth dose vaccine

Israel gives green light to fourth dose of covid vaccine. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has announced that those over 60 and medical staff will be able to receive the fourth dose of the vaccine to increase protection against the Omicron variant. “The citizens of Israel were the first in the world to receive the third dose of the vaccine, we continue to lead the way even with the fourth dose”, the premier’s words, pronounced after a cabinet meeting for the management of the coronavirus emergency. The green light of the experts at the fourth dose was defined as “splendid news” by the prime minister, convinced that the change could stem the Omicron variant “which is sweeping the world”. The Ministry of Health has made it clear that the fourth dose will also be available to immuno-depressed subjects. As for over 60s and healthcare professionals, it can be administered 4 months after the third dose.
