Covid today Europe, WHO: “40% more infections than last year”

Covid in Europe, the Delta variant still prevails. “The infections are 40% higher than in the same period last year”. This was underlined by Hans Kluge, director of the Regional Office of the World Health Organization for Europe, in a statement released today to take stock of the new Omicron variant of the pandemic coronavirus. “Last week Europe and Central Asia recorded 27,000 new deaths from Covid-19 and 2.6 million new cases,” he concludes.
