RED DEER – The Slovak national hockey team will play one preparatory match against Germany in preparation for the Junior Championship in Canada. The duel is on the agenda on December 23 at 14.00 local time (22.00 CET). After the match, the coaching staff will narrow the nomination by three players to the final 25 names.

The Slovaks were originally scheduled to play two preparatory matches against the Finns and the Austrians in Red Deere. Finally, the situation from last year was repeated. As last year, the organizers adjusted the schedule of preparatory meetings and allowed the Slovaks to play only one of the two duels. Last year against the Czech Republic, this time on December 23 at 14.00 local time against Germany.

“Every time you plan something and change comes, it’s not pleasant, but it opens up new possibilities. Our preparation continues. We have the head set correctly. And we try to adhere to the program as much as possible. Although they canceled our preparatory match with the Finns, we modeled a 60-minute duel against each other during training. Now a preparatory match with the Germans has been added to our schedule. We are looking forward to it and I believe that it will take place. Since the Slovak team has only 90 minutes of training available every day, the afternoon parties will be entertained by meetings with coaches or other members of the implementation team. “As the time to start the World Cup is running short, we try to make the most of every spare moment,” added Feneš.
