COVID-19 – Strange torment for the member for Essonne. Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of Debout la France, candidate for the presidential election and opponent of the health pass, told AFP on Monday, December 20, that he had been diagnosed positive for Covid-19 and said he was in isolation immediately.

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan explained that he had carried out, in order to take a train, a test which turned out to be negative on Thursday, December 9, but to have suffered from symptoms on Friday, December 10. He was then diagnosed positive for Covid-19.

On the other hand, he rejected the accusations of concealing his state of health from people he had known in the days preceding his contamination. According to Release, the deputy “knew he was a contact case” of his wife for several days before his positive diagnosis “and yet continued to participate in meetings” in the National Assembly.

Proof, Release evokes in particular an Instagram post of the deputy of Essonne, dated December 10, where he can be seen in a meeting at the National Assembly with a delegation of Italian deputies which would have taken place on December 8.

“Calumnies” according to the presidential candidate

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan disputed this version to AFP, claiming to have known about his wife’s contact on the evening of Thursday, December 9, then to have isolated himself, denouncing “slander” against him.

According to the unsuccessful 2017 presidential candidate, all people encountered in the “48 hours” preceding his positive test have been warned, in particular those encountered during a trip to Lorraine on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 December.

Contemptor of the sanitary pass, against which he went to demonstrate on numerous occasions, criticism against the vaccination campaign and skeptical as to the efficacy and safety of serums, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan had told a passerby, during a trip to last November, that he was “not vaccinated”.
