Government convenes extraordinary talks: Health workers and social workers will receive a one-off reward – Topky

According to Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽANO), the government treats finances very carefully, but they also take into account important needs. Therefore, the government agreed to pay a one-time fee of 350 euros to all health professionals. The government has set aside around € 50 million for this. According to the Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský (OĽaNO nominee), all health professionals will receive a reward.

In the submitted report, the Ministry of Health (MH) of the Slovak Republic informed that employers will report the list of employees to whom the payment of remuneration relates to the National Health Information Center. Data collection will take place from 20 December at 7 pm to 22 December at 10 pm. The Ministry will send the employers funds in the amount corresponding to the number of registered health care workers multiplied by the amount of a one-time financial contribution of EUR 350 per one health care worker.

“The employer must redistribute all funds in the same amount among all reported healthcare professionals who qualify for remuneration.” pointed out the Ministry of Health. The Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský (OĽANO nominee) thanked the nurses for their work. “We appreciate their work immensely,” he said. According to him, all health care workers, as well as medical students working in the health care facility, will be entitled to this reward.

According to Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽANO), health workers and social workers, who also receive it, deserve it. Heger also pointed out that the government was able to save the package of almost 51 million euros, allocated to rewards. Together with the Minister of Finance Igor Matovič (OĽANO), they denied that the government’s decision was a response to the medical protests, they said that the inter-ministerial negotiations on the possibility and method of paying the rewards took a long time.
