POPRAD – HK Poprad hockey players triumphed in Wednesday’s home round of the 12th round of the Tipos extra league over MHk 32 Liptovský Mikuláš 9: 0 high. Canadian striker James Arniel scored up to five goals.

The sub-Tatra derby between the domestic “chamois” and the Lipták family began with the cannonade of Poprad. As early as the 5th minute, the people of Poprad took the lead. After the pass of Rymshu, Arniel placed himself on the ice of the goalkeeper Vošvrd and waited for the right moment to end between the concrete – 1: 0. In one of the other offensive actions of the home team, defender Rymsha shot the shaft of Vošvrd’s goal. The home team added a second goal shortly after the end of the power play Mlynarovič. At the end of the 13th minute, the guests had the opportunity to correct the unfavorable development of the meeting to a large extent. However, after Ilenčík’s mistake on the blue line, two players from Poprad rolled onto the Lipták goal and the puck, even with the help of luck after Svitan’s backhand, ended up in the net – 3: 0. Arniel, who drove Vošvrda out of the goal, took advantage of further confusion and lack of emphasis in front of Liptovský Mikuláš’s goal area at the end of the 17th minute. Kozel stood between the three poles. After the hard hit Skokan on the visiting defender Krempasky, the plexiglass did not last, so the remaining time of the first period was completed after returning from the locker room just before the start of the second act. Ully could have beautified the score after the first period, but Kozel caught his separate escape.

The Liptov team collected another unlucky goal at the beginning of the 22nd minute. The match continued at a lukewarm pace with a large number of errors in the pass on both sides. Kalousek found himself in one of the guests’ unique chances after a 2-on-1 run, but he did not surprise Čiliak. After one of the fights on the back guard, the guest striker Walega did not finish due to injury. Less than two minutes before the end of the middle part of the game, Arniel was able to score the fourth goal of the match, when he and Ully rushed in a pair to a lone Goat. The goalkeeper of Liptovský Mikuláš Všal performed the intervention of the match.

Kozel performed another of the great interventions at the beginning of the third period and again it was against Arniel. Čiliak, who neutralized Hovork’s independent escape after Handlovsky’s pass, also held his teammates on the other side. Arniel’s goal explosion continued in the 48th minute, when he found himself alone in front of Kozel and gave him no chance – 6: 0. In just a few seconds, the guests lost by a difference of seven goals. A pass from Matej Paloček directed Mlynarovič to the goal line, for whom it was the second goal of the match. Guests were ripe on the towel. In the 54th minute, they lost eight goals after Vandas’ accurate shot. Arniel added his fifth goal in the match after a close shot in a power play and Liptovský Mikuláš shared a single goal from the famous “ten”. In the ongoing power play, the construction of the goal saved the guests after Drgoň’s cannonball. He didn’t add a tenth goal to the visitors’ net after Livingston’s jump. Kozel did not let go of the puck behind his back with all his might. Čiliak kept his first clean account of the season.
