Algeria freezes Qatar at the end of the night and qualifies for the final of the Arab Cup – SO FOOT

Qatar 1-2 Algeria

Goals: Muntari (90e+7) for Annabi // Benlamri (59e) and Belaïli (90e+17) for the Greens

At the end of an uninspiring game, but totally stunning, Algeria won (1-2) in the semifinals of the Arab Cup and joined Tunisia already qualified.

At Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, the Algerians set foot on the ball after a first period without any real chances. The acrobatic cover of Almoez Ali (13e), above, and the strike of Yacine Brahimi, repelled by Saad Al Sheeb (35e), will thus have been the only big situations of a start to the match without rhythm.

After the locker room, with no change in dynamics, it was the Greens who finally opened the scoring. A missed exit from Al Sheeb on a corner thus benefited Houcine Benyada, whose recovery at the entrance to the surface was extended with a header by Djamel Benlamri (0-1, 59e). An achievement came to lock a meeting already closed until the explosion. Helped by nine minutes of added time, Mohammed Muntari, who came into play a few minutes earlier, thus catapulted the leather, also the noggin, into the small net of Raïs M’Bolhi (1-1, 90e+7). The equalizer is unexpected, but ultimately reduced to nothing by the penalty obtained from Brahimi’s feet and transformed into two stages by Youcef Belaïli (1-2, 90e+17). An impossible scenario that only football can offer.

In the final, Algeria will therefore challenge Tunisia on December 18. For their part, and a few hours before, Qatar and Egypt snatched third place.
