Three unions from SNCF, CGT-Cheminots, Sud-Rail and Unsa are calling for a strike for the first weekend of the Christmas holidays, from December 17 to 19, on the south-eastern axis, franceinfo learned on Monday December 13 with the unions.

The unions have filed two separate strike notices, one from the CGT, the other from South and Unsa, each time to demand wage increases. The management of the SNCF does not wish to comment on this call to strike.

Drivers have until Wednesday, December 15 to file their DII (Individual Declaration of Intent), at least 48 hours before the start of the strike. The traffic forecasts for the next weekend will not be known until then.
