A dramatic accident killed 4 people on Sunday December 12, 2021 in Nespouls, on the A20 motorway, on the border between Lot and Corrèze.

One dramatic accident left four dead in the evening of Sunday 12 December 2021, on theA20 motorway at the border between Lot and Corrèze, in the town of Nespouls just after the Gignac interchange in the direction of Brive.

Around 9 p.m., in the Toulouse-Paris direction, a vehicle carrying three people hit a salt spreader from the rear as she entered the highway according to France 3.

On impact, the two vehicles caught fire, causing 4 victims : the three people in the car as well as the driver of the machine, a 57-year-old man from Corrèze, agent of the Interdepartmental Roads Directorate (DIR) center-west.

The weather conditions involved?

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the tragedy, however it seems that the weather conditions were bad, including the presence of thick fog.

The intervention mobilized around twenty firefighters from the Brive, Allassac and Souillac emergency centers, as well as the gendarmes from the Corrèze road safety delegation.

The motorway was closed to traffic in the Toulouse-Paris direction for several hours, before being reopened this Monday, December 13, 2021 early in the morning.
