MADRID – Spanish actress Verónica Forqué, who starred in Oscar-winning black comic director Pedro Almodóvar, was found dead on her house in Madrid on Monday. The actress, who celebrated her 66th birthday on December 1, committed suicide, the Spanish police said without further details.

Forqué also appeared in Almodóvar’s film What I Did Who Did It Happen to me in 1984, which was his first film in theaters in the United States. In 1986, she starred in the film Matador. In addition to Almodóvar, she has collaborated with other Spanish directors, such as Luis García Berlanga and Antonio Mercer. Forqué has also appeared in many projects in theaters and television, most recently in a special edition of the Spanish version of the MasterChef Celebrity culinary competition.
