You will now be more discreet about WhatsApp. The messaging service is indeed rolling out a new feature that improves its privacy measures. The idea is simple: by default, it will now be impossible to see your status for contacts with whom you have never chatted, and vice versa.

This applies to both iOS and Android devices, which here benefit from a small additional layer of security. Because at first glance innocuous, this small change nevertheless makes a lot of sense.

Cut the rug out from under certain third-party apps
