Savings: the rate of the livret A will increase in January, announces Bruno Le Maire – LCI

This is news that should delight savers. “The rate of the livret A will increase in January”, declared this Monday, December 13 in the morning the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Recovery, Bruno Le Maire. More precisely, the increase will be proposed by the government next month, and will become effective on February 1, specifies Bercy. A measure decided because of the general rise in prices in recent months.

On the other hand, Bruno Le Maire did not indicate how much this increase would be, while the rate of the livret A is currently at its lowest, at 0.5%. “I cannot give you a figure: the governor of the Banque de France will make a proposal”, Bruno Le Maire said on BFMTV. The governor of the Banque de France, François Villeroy de Galhau, had for his part already indicated Friday on RTL that the calculation of the rate of the livret A would integrate the inflation of the last six months.
