UEFA made an unusual mistake with him, when the players wrongly drew a rival for FC Villarreal (Manchester United), while both were already playing against each other in the group.

“After a technical problem with the software, which was supposed to signal the possibility or impossibility of selecting teams at the draw, the whole draw will be repeated again at 15.00 CET,” UEFA confirmed on the official website.

Immediately after the draw, the clubs demanded an explanation, Villarreal was the first to speak, followed by Atletico and Manchester United. UEFA subsequently acknowledged the protests, admitted the mistake and decided to repeat the draw. She blamed an external software vendor. The AFP agency informed.
