“We are taking this more appropriate and practical measure to reduce the impact (pandemics) on people’s daily lives and at the same time help limit the spread of omicron,” said Health Minister Sajid Javid.

People will be alerted to the fact that they have come into contact with a person infected with a covid, the National Health Service’s (NHS) Test and Trace system or its covid application.

In addition, from next week, there will be an opportunity to be vaccinated with a third anti-covid dose for people over 30 years of age. The British government has set itself the goal of administering a booster dose of the vaccine to all adults in the country by the end of January.

“The omicron variant is gaining ground in the UK and is expected to become dominant by mid-December,” said the head of the health department. transported the first patients infected with the omicron variant, two weeks after the variant was confirmed in Britain.

During the week, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also announced several changes to the rules in the fight against the omikron variant. As of Monday, December 13, the government in England has again ordered work from home to people who have the conditions. A certificate confirming vaccination or a negative test will be required to enter nightclubs and events.

Britain is one of the hardest hit countries, with more than 146,000 coronavirus deaths, and daily infections are still at an extremely high level – around 50,000.
