This movement is suspected of being involved in the violence committed on December 5 during Eric Zemmour’s meeting in Villepinte (Seine-Saint-Denis).

“I initiated the procedure for the dissolution of this de facto grouping that are the Zouaves, which is a group of people who come either from GUD [un ancien syndicat étudiant d’extrême droite] or French Action, that is to say well-known ultra-right movements “, declared the Minister of the Interior to the “Grand Jury” RTL-LCI-Le Figaro.

On December 5, during the first campaign meeting of candidate Eric Zemmour in Villepinte, several SOS Racisme activists, who had exhibited T-shirts “No to racism”, had been attacked with punches and throwing chairs by supporters of the polemicist. About fifty people, identified by the police as belonging to the Zouaves, had posed at the exit of the meeting for a photo, chanting “We are at home”.

The small group was also implicated in violence committed during the demonstrations of “yellow vests” on December 1, 2018 in Paris and in the attack on a bar frequented by anti-fascists in the Ménilmontant district in June 2020.
