Biathlon: Chloé Chevalier and the “panic on board” mode

It’s a story that could have ended very badly. This Saturday afternoon, when taking the track as a third torchbearer of the France team just after his big sister Anais, something was missing Chloe Chevalier : his transponders.

An oversight that made switch, in his words, the Dauphinoise in “panic on board” mode : “I quickly realized it, she explains to Nordic Magazine at the end of the podium. I did not know at all the consequences of such an oversight… So I shouted on the track towards the technicians to find out more. It totally took me out of my race. ”

No consequences

A relay that the young biathlete from Isère has dotted with four pickax balls, two on each of its passages behind the rifle. “I went through my entire stint a bit with this ball in mind,” she sums up. Ultimately, it didn’t have any real consequences since she passed the baton to Justine braisaz in third position. A rank that the Savoyard kept to offer the Bleues a second podium in a row in the exercise.

“It was stressful, but it ends well”, concludes Chloe Chevalier, to whom there remains a pursuit to be disputed this Sunday at Hochfilzen (Austria) before returning to France for the long-awaited trials of Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie).
