The representative of the Ile-de-France region is the first Ile-de-France to win the title since Patricia Spehar, elected Miss France 1997. LCI takes you back to her evening with 10 video highlights, chosen in all subjectivity.

She rehearsed during the month of preparation that dancing was not her thing. But it was not the stress that took over at the very start of the ceremony. As soon as she arrived on the set, Diane Leyre was overwhelmed. “For the opening table, I had tears in my eyes. I didn’t think there would be such a great emotion, such a great desire to be there”, she told in a press conference. A strong feeling that viewers on the other side of the screen might have felt.

Her tight pink jumpsuit made her a disco queen. After the release of her portrait, Diane Leyre gave everything in one of the most lively paintings of the evening. If dancing is not her forte, she has proven that she has a pretty good command of playback. She, who often found herself on the front line, would have made many people jealous in the 1970s.

She told us that she never said “never no to a ham and butter”. And that her indispensable local product was, like a good Parisian, the baguette! So it is inevitably with her bread under her arm that she presented herself to the parade of regional costumes. Diane Leyre had not forgotten her beret and striped sweater either. She thought she was going to have to follow the rest of the competition from behind the scenes. But Diane Leyre was able to breathe when the name of her region was called up last among the semi-finalists. “What a difficult place, I must admit”, she said, visibly very relieved. “I only have a minute to introduce myself, so I’ll make it simple for you”, continued the young woman by describing herself. It was undoubtedly the end of his speech that hit the nail on the head: “Most French people pass through my region at some point in their life, whether for work or for study. We are a bit of an adopted land. So tonight, it’s my turn to ask you – and for one year only, adopt me “.

Of the three parades in swimsuits, this was perhaps the one that most resembled a spectacle. Once again on the front line, Diane Leyre transformed into Velma Kelly for a choreography inspired by the musical Chicago. Not bad for someone who, we repeat, doesn’t particularly like to dance.

This is the most jarring moment of the ceremony. The one where an answer completely off the mark can cost you the crown. The five finalists were subjected to questions proposed by the public. She believed that she would not get up from it. But Diane Leyre narrowly avoided the fall in the last show in evening dress. A moment that she barely mentioned was elected Miss France 2022. “It seems silly, but I almost slipped at one point and I think you all saw it … Like what … Falling to get up better. She expected to hear his name when the first runner-up was announced. Except that the first runner-up is never announced … So it’s a Diane Leyre necessarily very surprised who reacted when Jean-Pierre Pernaut gave her the winner. She is and will remain Miss France 2022.

It was to another Jean-Pierre – Foucault – that she gave her first interview as Miss France. Bouquet of flowers in hand, she notably recalled that she was “a woman of challenges”.
