Diane Leyre (Ile-de-France) elected Miss France 2022, in a context which pushes to widen access to the competition – Le Monde

Diane Leyre, Miss Ile-de-France, was elected Miss France 2022 on the night of Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 December, following a competition organized in Caen and broadcast on TF1. His first runner-up is Miss Martinique and his second runner-up Miss Alsace. She succeeds Amandine Petit (Normandy) who was elected in December 2020.

“My region is multicultural. This is the reason why, if I am lucky enough to be elected, I would like to support living together ”, declared, during the evening, this graduate of international trade, who works in the real estate development.

The young brunette woman of 1m77 and 24 years old, was chosen 50/50 by the viewers and by a jury of seven personalities chaired by the former presenter of the television news Jean-Pierre Pernaut.

The jury decided at the end of an evening during which the 29 regional miss candidates presented in stiletto heels a series of choreographies on well-known tunes from musicals, with a lot of rhinestones and glitter, and to the cheers of the public at the Zénith de Caen.

This competition, reserved for single women with a minimum height of 1.70m, and aged under 25 is the subject of growing debate.

After his statements, M^me Moreno received at the ministry Alexia Laroche-Joubert, the president of the company Miss France, a subsidiary of the production company Endemol. And now she is “Almost certain” that the rules “Will evolve”.

M^me Laroche-Joubert has since announced, during the presentation of the 2022 competition, that the candidates would for the first time be paid for the final but not for the rehearsals. “There are criteria to change to adapt to the times (…). Geneviève de Fontenay “very shocked”

The main municipal opposition group (EELV-PCF-DVG) in Caen was indignant in early December that the mayor Les Répubicains (LR) did not communicate its cost for the city. According to EELV municipal councilor Rudy L’Orphelin, the competition, already organized in Caen, had “Cost 200,000 euros” in 2010 to the city.

“In view of the benefits reaped by the organizing company, there is reason to wonder” on a “Public financial support” at this demonstration, said this opposition group in a press release. And the chosen ones “To congratulate the legal actions taken” by Dare feminism !.

The industrial tribunal of Bobigny must look on June 21 on the procedure launched by the association which accuses the competition of violation of labor law.
