A few days ago, drivers who were walking on a road near the village of Lipno in the Greater Poland Voivodeship witnessed a bizarre moment.

On the edge of the road, maintenance workers mowed the grass with scythes. However, they were a month late, as the grass was already covered in snow.

It was snowing, plows and dumpers were driving along the road. “This is something unseen, I would not have thought that it is possible to mow the grass after the snowfall … And maybe they mowed the snow?” The television quoted

Przemyslaw Górzný, a councilor from the town of Lešno, who walked past the mowers and filmed them on camera in the car.

“I understand that we live in a land of absurdity, but this is too much,” said one of the listeners on the regional radio station Elka. Another took the work of road workers with humor. According to him, the grass had to be mowed, because when it is high, snow drifts on it.

The Wielkopolska Road Administration takes care of the maintenance of the road. Her spokeswoman said the office had actually asked a company to mow the grass around the road.

However, the work was to end in early November. According to the spokesperson, the company is facing a financial penalty for a monthly delay. The Road Administration considers the situation to be “unacceptable and curious”.
