The criminal police in Lučenec are working on the death of a man from the Poltár district. An autopsy revealed the presence of methyl alcohol and other substances in his body, which can be fatal.

Based on the findings, the police assume that there may be more such cases in the Poltár district, as they suspect that there is an illegal production of alcohol in the region that contains dangerous substances, such as methyl alcohol.

“It cannot be ruled out that more than one person may have bought dangerous alcohol from an illegal producer and may be in danger to their health or life. Therefore, in this way, we strongly urge citizens who have purchased alcohol that could come from illegal production to consider consuming it, “the police warn.

At the same time, it calls on citizens who have information about the illegal production of alcohol in the district of Poltár to report it to the telephone number 158.
