Gut-Behrami won the super-G at St. Moritzi, Goggio has already moved ahead of Vlhova – Športky.sk

ST. MORITZ – Swiss Lara Gutová-Behrami triumphed in Saturday’s super-G World Cup in St. MORITZ Moritz. The domestic skier pushed co-Bavarian Sofia Goggio from Italy to second place (+0.18 s), the third place was finished by 1.18 seconds, the leader of the overall classification, the American Mikaela Shiffrin.

Thirty-year-old Gutová-Behrami showed a fast and dynamic ride, thanks to which she celebrated her 33rd victory in the prestigious series. She has triumphed in her strongest discipline for the seventeenth time. Although Goggio attacked her time at the bottom of the track, in the end she did not follow up on last week’s triumph from Lake Louise. They exchanged positions with the Swiss, Gutová-Behrami finished second to Goggio in the Canadian resort with a deficit of 11 hundredths of a second. Both skiers are at the top of the discipline evaluation with 180 points.

Goggio moved to second place in the overall classification ahead of Slovakia’s Petra Vlhová, the defender of the big globe in St. Moritz didn’t start. During the Olympic season, she ordered a break, except for Lake Louise and St. Louis. Moritz will miss another speed event in Val d´Isere and will be the next one in the World Cup on December 21 in a giant slalom in Courchevel, France. Shiffrin leads the overall ranking of the World Championships by 70 points ahead of Goggio, Vlhova lags behind the American by 125 points.
