Patrick Poivre d’Arvor targeted by two new complaints for rape and sexual assault

SEXUAL VIOLENCE – The free speech movement continues. Already accused by dozens of women, some of whom even agreed to testify with your face uncovered to report rape and other sexual assault, Patrick Poivre d’Arvor is the subject of two new complaints, we learn this Friday, December 10 our colleagues from LCI.

On December 7 and 9, respectively in Liévin and Amiens, two women filed a complaint against the former star of the TF1 newscast. The first relates to events dating back to 2013 and which would have occurred in the Savoyard resort of Valmorel. A then 23-year-old woman says she was forcibly kissed by PPDA “with the tongue” when she was a receptionist at a hotel and was in an elevator with him.

The second speaks of even more serious and older facts since they date from 1985. That year, a young woman who was studying to become a press secretary explains that she was raped by the journalist. The latter was in Cannes for the film festival and he allegedly locked the complainant in her hotel room at the Martinez. “I tried to reason with him, but he put me by force on the bed, he took off my pants, my panties and forcibly penetrated me”, told the complainant to the police officers, always of after LCI. The first of these two new accusers says she decided to speak in solidarity with Florence Porcel. “For me, he’s a sexual predator,” she explains. As a reminder, rejected for the first time for “insufficient evidence”, journalist Florence Porcel filed a new rape complaint at the end of November against Patrick Poivre d’Arvor.

But for the two new complaints, the facts described are each time prescribed and should therefore not be able to lead to a conviction of the old icon of the small screen. “By filing a complaint, they are re-establishing a balance of power that they had totally suffered”, nevertheless justifies their lawyer, Maître Laure Heinich at LCI. Like them, many women have decided to speak in recent months of acts committed by PPDA despite the prescription, even founding a collective to bring the words and testimonies of the victims: # MeTooMédias.
