Hockey without defenses. Even so, it can be called the first period in which four goals were scored. The first eight minutes were played mainly in the Nitra defense zone. The hurricanes managed to push the opponent, but they only prevailed once. Nieminen opened the scoring in the 4th minute. The “Corgoni”, despite not performing perfectly, turned the situation around within two minutes. In the 12th minute, Hrnek fought Nemc’s sharp shot and subsequently Bajtek entered the shooting list in the same way. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 17 minutes, Beaudry broke through the center and found himself alone with the keeper.

In the middle part of Nitra, they improved their movement and after only 47 seconds, Baláž prevailed. He managed to catch up with Kuru, who was found behind Nieminen’s goal in the 22nd minute, but the Finnish striker was too close to O’Connor. In the 29th minute, Varga faced Melicherčík, but the puck placed only Spišiakov in the goal. The home team nevertheless went to the cabins with a two-goal lead when Raskob pushed through 59 seconds before the end of the third.

The beginning of the third period also turned out better for the home team. In the 42nd minute, Rockwood, Bajtek and Varga played a one-touch power play combination, while the latter shot over Melicherčík – 5: 2. With 52 minutes played, Tyczynski could have brought this one home for Tyczynski as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Four minutes before the end, Šramata missed a big opportunity, who did not hit the exposed gate from the metro, so the score did not change.
