CORONAVÍRUS New measures apply: Several stores can only open in the OP – Topky mode

The new measures were approved by the government this week. Both the state of emergency and the curfew continue to apply. Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽANO) justifies this by saying that health is a priority. “Today, the most vulnerable group are unvaccinated and have to endure more discomfort. It’s in their best interest,” introduced new measures. At the same time, the Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic asks the residents to think about each personal visit to the permitted operation. It requires operators to approach the set conditions responsibly.

The Office has published two decrees that respond to the new measures. They regulate the operation of operations and mass events. From Friday, all businesses and some services can be open to people who have overcome COVID-19 in the last 180 days and to those who have been vaccinated (OP). Convenience stores will be open in base mode.

In the base mode, ie without health checks, grocery stores, pharmacies, pet food stores, petrol stations, car spare parts stores, drugstores or newspaper and printed matter stores will be open. There may also be outlets for goods purchased remotely, parcel machines, post offices, banks or outlets of network operators.

The ÚVZ clarified that shops that sell more than one type of assortment may only sell goods under the base regime that are sold by other establishments with a permitted base regime. Thus, everyone can enter the department stores, regardless of their immune status. This is then taken into account when entering the individual plants. For example, everyone can enter a pharmacy, but only a clothing store in OP mode.

In the base mode, there are also shops for household and gardening supplies, uncovered or partially covered markets with the sale of seedlings, flowers, vegetables, fruits, food. Also some services such as key services, repair and service of electronics, footwear, clothing, vehicles, bicycles and others or repair of machinery and equipment.

Only in OP mode can there be fitness, driving school, hairdressing, barber, manicure or pedicure operations. Only in the vaccination, testing or overcoming (OTP) mode can hotels and similar short-stay accommodation services operate, but only in connection with the performance of work or for the purpose of visiting a medical facility. The basic mode will also include medical spas and spa treatment facilities providing services to patients on the basis of a doctor’s prescription, funeral services, technical and emission inspections, taxi services, lawyers, notaries or executors.

Mass events are banned from Friday. Exceptions are those in the mode of vaccination and overcoming (OP) up to ten people. According to the ÚVZ, they can only take place in connection with the performance of work. A maximum of 30 people or one person per 25 square meters will be allowed in the churches. Marriages and baptisms can take place with a maximum of six people. Funerals that have no capacity restrictions are also an exception. Elections and professional sports competitions are also allowed. These should be without the participation of spectators. Cable cars and lifts can only be in OP mode. The maximum capacity of closed gondola lifts is 25 percent. Other cable cars and lifts can operate without capacity restrictions.

According to the regulations, persons are considered to have been vaccinated at least 14 days and at most one year after the administration of the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine with a two-dose schedule. Also meant for at least 21 days and at most one year after the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine with a single dose schedule. They are also at least 14 days old and at most one year after the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, if the first dose was given within 180 days of the disease, or children under 12 years of age and two months of age.

Overcoming should be understood as meaning persons who have overcome COVID-19 disease no more than 180 days ago. This fact must be proven on the basis of a positive result of the RT-PCR test, in children under 12 years of age also on the basis of a certificate from a general practitioner for children and adolescents issued on the basis of an antigen test performed at a mobile collection point (MOM) issued by 15 November 2021 .

In addition to vaccinated and obsolete, the term OTP also means testing (T). Such persons are considered to have a negative RT-PCR or LAMP test result not older than 72 hours after collection, or a negative antigen test result not older than 48 hours after collection. Confirmations of vaccination, negative test or passing COVID-19 can be replaced by a digital COVID EU card. Otherwise, these facts must be proved by a document from which the identity of the proving person can be determined.
